EXCELLENT Based on 29 reviews Posted on JohnVerified Super agent Don't hesitate to book with them actually they are doing the best all the time super super superPosted on ThomasVerified Great service The best service with the best agentPosted on raniaVerified Had a great time in Egypt! I had an amazing experience with Egy Vacations from start to finish. The planning process was smooth, and Eman, who helped us plan our itinerary, was incredibly accommodating. She adjusted the itinerary to include places we really wanted to visit and made everything work within our student budget. In Cairo, we only had time for a one-day tour, but it was still very well organized and made the most of the limited time we had. Our guide, Toka, was very knowledgeable and explained Egyptian history in a clear and engaging way. Her storytelling made the dynasties easy to understand, even for first-time visitors. She was friendly and fun to be around, and she made the time spent driving between sites enjoyable as well. One small thing to note is that lunch was supposed to be included in the Cairo tour, but we didn’t end up having lunch, likely due to our very packed itinerary. This was understandable given the time constraints, but it would have been helpful to have a heads-up since the tour was booked with lunch included. During our cruise and our time in Luxor and Aswan, Amir was our guide. These cities are absolutely beautiful, and Amir did a great job explaining the history without overwhelming us, especially since we had no background in Egyptology. At sites where guides were not allowed inside, he patiently explained the carvings in our photos and clearly knew exactly where each one came from. Beyond the tours, he shared a lot about local culture, daily life, and food recommendations, which added a lot to the experience. Having the same guide throughout Luxor and Aswan made the experience feel seamless and relaxed. Overall, Egy Vacations provided great value, excellent guides, and very personal service. As a woman, I felt safe and well taken care of throughout the entire trip. I would absolutely recommend Egy Vacations to other travelers if they are looking to go to Egypt on a private tour.Posted on THOMAS OVerified We met a lot of really good characters on our tour and found the Egyption people welcoming and frendly. We will recommen We went on a private guided tour of all major locations. Our guides in Cairo and Aswan/ luxor were excellent. Ahmed and Mohamed (mo mo) Real experts with a passion for their countries history. The hotels were first class and the Nile cruise on the Steigenberger Regency was a great experiance. Egy Vacations allowed us to be flexable with our itinery. We spent extra time at the GEM.Posted on elena hVerified Great guide!! November is a very good time to travel to Egypt since the weather is very enjoyable. Of course, Egypt is a country to enjoy many remarkable historical sites but it would’ve not been the same without our knowledgable guide Ahmed Zidan. He made our trip in Cairo an even better experience through his interesting stories, amazing insights for each of the visits and his flexibility. We really recommend Ahmed Zidan as your guide.Posted on Ruth BVerified Fantastic day in Egypt What a great team ! They helped me plan my day and arranged for an egyptologist and driver to take me to all these places. Always quick to respond to questions, they were enjoyable to work with and they made my day a remember able one. Thank you.Posted on Andreas KVerified Excellent Excellent service. Had a wonderful encounter from Emona who planned our itinerary to Ahmed who was our tour guide. Ahmed went beyond what was expected, he was professional, courteous and very kind. His knowledge of Egyptian history on point🫡Posted on badaui xVerified Sehr Gut organisiert alles Private S✈️ Kairo – Kulturreise mit Übernachtung Ein besonderes Highlight war unser Ausflug nach Kairo.

The 2027 solar eclipse will occur on August 2, 2027, and it will be a total solar eclipse. The path of totality (where the sun is completely obscured by the moon) will cross several countries, including:
Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Parts of eastern Africa and the Middle East. This eclipse will be one of the longest total solar eclipses of the 21st century, with totality lasting over 6 minutes in some areas.
Yes, the 2027 solar eclipse will be visible in Egypt. Southern Egypt—including Luxor and Aswan—will experience totality, meaning the sun will be completely covered by the moon for several minutes. In northern Egypt, such as Cairo or Alexandria, it will be visible as a partial eclipse.
In ancient Egyptian mythology, a solar eclipse was often associated with the sun god Ra and the evil serpent Apep (or Apophis). Apep was believed to be a cosmic serpent who tried to devour Ra as he traveled through the sky. A solar eclipse was seen as a moment when Apep attacked Ra, temporarily swallowing the sun. The priests and people performed rituals to help Ra overcome Apep and restore sunlight.
No, it’s only safe to look directly at the sun during the brief totality phase. Before and after totality, and during a partial eclipse, special eclipse glasses or solar filters must be used.
Visa Requirements
Most travelers visiting Egypt will need a tourist visa, which is easy to obtain and fairly straightforward. The standard visa costs $25 USD and is valid for 30 days. You can get it upon arrival at major international airports or apply in advance through Egypt’s official e-Visa portal. We recommend applying online if you want to save time at the airport. Nationals of some countries may have specific entry rules, so it’s always a good idea to double-check before your trip. At EgyVacations, we’re happy to assist with up-to-date visa information and help ensure your arrival is smooth and stress-free.
Currency & Payments
The local currency is the Egyptian Pound (EGP), but U.S. dollars are also widely accepted in tourist areas. Cash is king—especially at markets, small shops, and for tips—so keep a supply of small bills handy. Major hotels, upscale restaurants, and larger stores usually accept credit cards, but rural areas and street vendors often don’t. ATMs are available in most cities, but notify your bank before traveling. At EgyVacations, we always advise guests to carry a mix of local currency and small U.S. notes to ensure smooth transactions throughout their journey.
Tipping Culture
Tipping—known locally as “baksheesh”—is a well-established part of Egyptian culture and a gesture of appreciation for service. For small tasks like carrying bags or restroom service, 2–5 EGP is typical. In restaurants, 10–15% is standard if service isn’t included. For your guides, drivers, or hotel staff, tipping is expected and highly appreciated—consider budgeting around $3–5 USD per day per person for drivers and $10–15 USD for your guide. At EgyVacations, we’ll provide clear tipping guidance so you can navigate local customs with confidence and generosity.
The best time to explore Egypt is from mid-October to April, when the weather is pleasantly mild—perfect for walking tours, Nile cruises, and desert adventures. If you’re looking to beat the crowds and still enjoy great weather, October–November and February–April are ideal “shoulder season” months. Summer (May–September) can be extremely hot, especially in southern Egypt, but if you don’t mind the heat, you’ll find fewer tourists and lower prices. At EgyVacations, we customize your itinerary based on seasonal highlights—whether it’s winter stargazing in the White Desert or springtime temple visits in Luxor.
Egypt’s climate is generally dry and sunny, so lightweight, breathable, and modest clothing is key—especially for visiting mosques and temples. We recommend bringing:
A few key items can make a big difference in your travel comfort. Be sure to bring:
Absolutely—taking a Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan (or vice versa) is one of the most unforgettable experiences in Egypt. You’ll sail through timeless landscapes while stopping to explore ancient temples like Karnak, Kom Ombo, and Philae with ease. Cruising offers a relaxed pace and seamless travel between historical sites—no need to pack and unpack each night. Whether you choose a luxury liner or a more intimate dahabiya sailboat, you’ll enjoy scenic views, top-notch service, and guided tours with expert Egyptologists. At EgyVacations, we handpick cruise options tailored to your comfort, budget, and style of travel.
To truly appreciate the Great Pyramids of Giza, we recommend visiting early in the morning to beat the heat and crowds. Touring with a certified Egyptologist guide makes a huge difference—you’ll gain insights that bring the ancient world to life. For something extraordinary, consider a hot-air balloon ride over Luxor (yes, you can fly over ancient temples!) or combine your pyramid visit with a side trip to Saqqara and Dahshur for a deeper dive into Egypt’s architectural evolution. At EgyVacations, we specialize in crafting private, immersive pyramid experiences you’ll never forget.
