October through April is the best time for a Nile cruise. Temperatures in Luxor and Aswan are comfortable at 20-28°C, ideal for temple visits and open-deck sailing. November through February is peak season — book 3-4 months ahead. March and April offer warm weather with fewer crowds. Tourist zones are managed by a dedicated tourist police force. The areas flagged in travel advisories, such as North Sinai, are entirely separate from any standard tour or Nile cruise itinerary.

Tipping — known locally as baksheesh — is customary and expected throughout Egypt.
